Camco quantifies the carbon intensity of biofuels and qualifies producers for the right to sell their product into low carbon fuel standard programs.
U.S. biofuel producers are focused on regional and federal programs designed to promote use of renewable fuel products in the transport sector. The California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (CA LCFS) is currently in force to reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint of the state’s transport sector by ensuring that the biofuel sold into the market meets established carbon intensity threshold levels. Producers with carbon intensities less than the established values can recognize additional value for their product. These unique carbon intensities are approved by the LCFS through an established process.
Camco helps producers calculate their product’s footprint according to program requirements and assists with navigating the application process. We also help producers quantify the carbon intensity or GHG footprint of their product for RIN allocation and qualify for unique pathways under the U.S. EPA Renewable Fuel Standard Two. RFS2 is currently active and requires that applicable fuel pass an accepted GHG intensity threshold. Producers stand to recognize carbon or GHG intensity benefits throughout their value chain, which translates to additional value recognized in various biofuel programs. Camco also provides the strategic advisory necessary to realize those benefits.
